D&R Community Services

D&R Community Services Pty Ltd is an approved provider of aged care services, home and community care, and education, specializing in services to indigenous, aged and disabled Australians in the rural and remote communities of the Northern Territory, gulf lands of Queensland, far north Queensland including Cairns, the Tablelands, Cape York Peninsula and South Australia.

We are privileged to have worked with D&R since 2009, project managing a range of refurbishment works to the remote facilities in Normanton, Doomadgee and Mornington Island, Queensland.

Project highlights include:

• Provide new wet and dry fire system to the facilities for first line fire fighting and emergency provision, including tanks and pumps, new fire exit paths and gates
• New ensuites bathroom refurbishments, involving close consultation with residents, staff and the construction team to ensure a high degree of safety while at the same time managing a program that delivered minimal downtime for residents' access to their rooms.
• Improvement to the general environment of these remote facilities for the enjoyment and safety of residents and staff, including the construction of a new outdoor room, fireplace and pergola, installation of air conditioning, and provision of back-up generators for continuity of essential services during the wet season.
